Craving for some garlic-infused dishes? Look no further than Mad for Garlic, a restaurant chain that has outlets all over our sunny island.
I was at the Suntec City outlet a couple of weeks ago, and I gotta say that the exterior exuded quite an elegant feel.
The smell of garlic hit me strongly as I walked into the restaurant, and it was clear that the restaurant stayed true to its name! Did you notice the garlics attached to the ceiling lights? 😉
Orders were taken quickly by the friendly waitress, and we were served plain water (at no extra charge) while waiting for our food.
The garlic pizza tasted as good as it looked, and it did not hurt that it was a thin crust pizza, the kind that I am a huge fan of. The fried garlic was delicious and the sweet pineapple bits were so good. Totally hit my pizza spot! (:
The lobster cream pasta was creamy and thick, and topped off with an ample helping of fish roe. The chunks of lobster meat did not have much taste, as they were overpowered by the thick cream sauce, which was a pity. An above average dish, but nothing to really shout home about either.
An interesting concept for a restaurant to rely heavily on garlic for inspiration, but I am not complaining, as I love garlic. The garlic aftertaste was really strong, and garlic breath was a real issue after our meal at Mad for Garlic. That still would not stop me from returning for more garlic-inspired dishes though! (:
