Chilli crab anyone? Whenever someone mentions Long Beach, that would be the first though that pops into my mind. I really like chilli crab, and seafood in general. :p Of course, Long Beach has really fragrant and yummy baked mantous, which taste even more delicious when dipped in the chilli crab sauce.
I went to the main outlet at East Coast Park a few weeks back with my family, and we parked at the carpark next to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is next to a Burger King drive-thru, so you won’t really miss it while driving past.
The interior of the restaurant is pretty big, and can accommodate a lot of people. The cool part about Long Beach is that they have these huge fish tanks next to the tables. You can see the fishes and crabs all swimming around, and possibly hoping that they won’t be the next one ending up on your plate! :p
We ordered quite a number of dishes to share, and the first of which was the chicken. I was too busy eating to note down the prices, so.. just enjoy the pictures hahaha.
The chicken was pretty good, although it tasted a bit like sweet & sour pork. But that’s ok with me, because I like sweet & sour pork too!
Up next was the baby squid!
This was real good stuff, and I especially liked the way it crunched in my mouth. It did taste a bit like ikan bilis, but that’s probably because it was fried and crispy.
We also had the clam with tanghoon (‘glass noodles’) and garlic.
Well, I like garlic, and I like clam, and I quite like tanghoon.. So.. It was great! 😀 The clam meat was pretty fresh and the minced garlic was just yum.
We also had cereal prawns! I love cereal prawns, although the one’s here were kinda disappointing. Disappointing because they were not de-shelled. 😦 That aside, the prawn meat was fresh.
And of course, the star of the show: Chilli crab!!!
Dayummmm doesn’t it look fineeee. The chilli sauce was awesome, as was the sri lankan crab. The fried mantous were so good that we ordered like a second, and a third helping. :p We even asked for more chilli sauce to dip the mantous in hahaha. Yum yum.
The food at Long Beach is pretty good, and there’s quite a lot of variety as well. Of course, if you’re there, you definitely CANNOT miss the supremely awesome chilli crab. Get more mantous, get more chilli sauce, get more of it!!! 😀 It’s not cheap, but it’s definitely worth it!
