I visited Table Manners at Changi City Point mall with my family a few weeks ago to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The mall is next to Expo MRT station, so it is rather convenient to get to. We made a reservation about a week in advance for 6 people, and were quickly seated upon arrival on the day itself. There is both outdoor and indoor seating available, but we sat indoors as it was a hot night haha.
The bar area, which is located at the outdoor seating area.
The tables are really long, and guests are seated together with each other in a communal-style. The good thing is that they can easily accommodate big groups, so if you’re celebrating with a big group of friends, Table Manners is a good place to go haha. Couples might not feel that it is very romantic though, since you are sharing tables with strangers, so my advice is not to bring your other half there if you’re looking for something romantic. 😉 We took up one of the big tables as there were 6 of us haha. Guess being in a big group has its perks hahaha.
Interesting decor indoors, with a small area that displays items for sale. I guess they’re trying to have a restaurant-shop concept, which is interesting.
Super awesome truffle chicken bites (S$10++) wooohoooo! We absolutely loved this and ordered 2 baskets! Nomnomnom.
Spicy wings (S$8.50++) were quite good as well, being marinated just right! 🙂
Ebiko mussels (S$9++) were average, and I felt that they weren’t really very fresh. The ebiko sauce was not bad though.
Chicken quesadilla (S$11++) and zesty wings (S$8.50). The chicken quesadilla was quite nice, although not the best I’ve ever tasted. But for an appetiser, it’s good enough haha. The zesty wings were a miss for me, and I felt that they weren’t nice at all.
Truffle fries (S$7++) were quite good. The truffle taste was strong enough, and the fries were not too soggy, which I liked. 🙂 Definitely not the best truffle fries I’ve had, but still pretty good.
Escargots (6 for S$12) were on a promotion that day. I felt that they kinda overdid it with the pesto sauce, which overpowered everything else, so I would say it was only slightly above average. I still miss having escargots in Paris..
Truffle capellini with organic egg (S$19++). The egg was rather bad in my opinion. I mean, eggs usually can’t go wrong, but this one in particular was just a big no-no. The truffle sauce was ok, although it didn’t really go well with the pasta used in this case (capellini).
Mary’s little lamb (S$24++) was tender, and the sauce was delicious. A big yes for this dish. 🙂
Louisiana fried chicken (S$18++) was tasty enough, and the batter was not too thick, which was good haha. The garlic aioli sauce was delicious, and we cleaned it all up! 😉
In case you’re wondering, we had more than one serving of some dishes, since there were 6 of us haha. Although we didn’t get 6 mains since the sides were actually rather good and filling, plus we had a birthday cake to cut and eat after dinner. :p
Oh yes, they have regular promos on their drinks as well! I got a house-pour beer and my mom got a passionfruit martini, which was quite nice. Can’t remember how much it was, but do check out their happy hour promos when there! 🙂
A nice little restaurant located in the East, and it is a perfect place for catching up with friends after shopping at the Expo. 😉 What’s even better is that it can easily accommodate large groups, so you don’t have to split up and sit at different tables! The ambience is relaxed and they have a good and wide variety of drinks available as well. The food is generally quite good, with the exception of a few dishes. Another great thing about this place is that it has quite a number of promos, such as happy hour for drinks, 1-1 beers after 9pm, $7 bar snacks from 5-7pm, etc. 🙂
