In addition to La Ristrettos at Novena Medical Centre (which I did a review on a couple of weeks back), I’ve found another great café in the area! I spent a really nice afternoon there with C a few days ago, and it was surprisingly easy to find as well! 🙂
It is really convenient to get to The Clue-less Goat, as it’s situated right around the corner of Exit B of Novena MRT station. That’s the same exit you can take to get to United Square (a shopping mall) as well. Turn right after coming up the escalator of Exit B, and you’ll spot it right away!
The café feels very open and airy as they have floor-to-ceiling glass panels which let in a lot of natural light. It can seat 26 people at its maximum capacity, with 2 more seats at the bar (for a total of 28). There is a large communal table that can seat about 10 people near the entrance, and the rest of the café is filled with 2-seater and 4-seater tables.
Here’s a pic of the food menu.
And here’s a pic of the drinks menu!
I had a 4oz flat white for S$4.50, and it is one of the better flat whites I’ve had. I liked the slightly nutty aftertaste that it had haha.
The hot chocolate (S$5) tastes malty and sweet, and it is at just the right consistency (not too thick!). 🙂
We shared a sweet waffle (S$9.50) since we were still quite full from lunch haha. We got it with caramel sauce and toasted marshmallow ice cream, but there is also the option of having it with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. These waffles aren’t the big fluffy kind you usually see at places like Sunday Folks, Daily Scoop, or Gelaré for example. These waffles bear a similar look to the kind you get at the neighbourhood bakeries. I was reminded of my childhood, when I really liked having those $1 waffles at the neighbourhood bakeries hahaha.
However these waffles do taste slightly different compared to those found in neighbourhood bakeries! The waffles are crispy on the sides (love it) and not too soft in the middle (yay!), and the buttery taste is just nice! 🙂 The ice cream was decent too.
The Clue-less Goat is a little gem of a place tucked away near Novena MRT. A great thing about this café is that they do not charge service charge. Not too sure about GST, but the prices you see on the menu are the same prices you pay, which is great. I prefer eateries that lay out the final price from the off, which makes it easier to calculate exactly how
expensive much you end up paying. :p Furthermore, if you’re going with friends, it’s easier to split the bill too hahaha.
Oh yes, they only accept cash, so be sure to have enough on you before heading down! All in all, it’s a great place to chill out over coffee and dessert. 🙂
