We visited Mykonos in Aug last year as well, and spent about 3 nights there. While there, we stayed at this beautiful hotel called Hotel Carbonaki.
The hotel is located in the Old Town of Mykonos, which can be rather confusing at first, but you get a hang of it after walking around a bit! As no taxis are allowed to enter the Old Town (the roads are too narrow anyway), we had to find our way from the main road haha. Luckily the locals were helpful, and we found the hotel after a while.
(Above pic is taken from the hotel website, but it is an accurate description of our room)
We stayed in a Triple Room, and paid about S$300 a night, which was quite expensive, when compared to our accommodation in Santorini. However, this was an actual hotel, and had a very resort-like feel to it.
The room toilet was designed to look like a cave (how cool!), and was rather spacious too. Of course, most importantly, the aircon was great! It was such a good respite to enjoy aircon after a day out in the hot sun hahaha. :p There’s also free WiFi, and the signal was strong throughout the property. 🙂
Some of the in-room amenities are as follows:
- Towels, bath & shampoo lotion are provided
- Hair dryer
- Clothes hangars
- Clothes iron & ironing board
- Safe box
- Free WiFi
The hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood, and is near enough to the action, but also far enough so that late night revellers won’t disturb your sleep :p
There was also a very nice lounging area with a jacuzzi for guests to soak in (ahhh..)
