We woke up bright and early on our second day in Mykonos, and headed down to the port for breakfast. It was still quiet and sleepy as we made our way along the streets, which were bustling with life and activity just the night before. I guess most shops aren’t open that early for business, even in a touristy place like this! :p
We chanced upon a little cafe near the port, and right in front of the sea, and decided to have our breakfast there.
Had a ham & tomato omelette which was great! Also had a cup of tea to go with it.
Mom & sis shared a plate of scrambled eggs as they weren’t that hungry yet. They also got an iced chocolate to share.
After breakfast, we simply took a few steps and were at our first stop of the day: the waterfront! 🙂
Lucky it was still quite early, so there weren’t that many tourists around to cramp my style. 😉 We spent a while there cam-whoring, and taking jump shots hahah, but I shan’t bore you with those pics. :p
I really love how blue-green the sea is, such a beautiful color! 🙂
Just look at how beautiful the sea is, and how close it is!
There was a white stone church nearby as well, and we took quite a few pics around it. It appeared locked though, so we couldn’t go inside..
Spotted some pretty houses along the way to the restaurant for lunch. This paintbrush door signpost is really quite cool eh?
We had lunch at Katerina’s, which has really good food, although the drinks were only so-so. And JUST LOOK AT THE VIEWWWW! We were having lunch literally above the sea, on a small patio of the restaurant that was built over the sea haha. It was awesome just chilling and enjoying the view, and the food. 🙂
A totally unobstructed view of the windmills! 🙂
After a great lunch, and after some time just sitting there enjoying the view, we made our way to the windmills. Of course they weren’t as impressive as the Dutch ones we saw at Zaanse Schans, but they were cute all the same haha.
As we continued wandering around the streets, we also stumbled upon this cool staircase.
We all liked how the artist made use of the physical stairs to create an art piece with such a great message. 🙂
We then went back to the hotel to chill in the jacuzzi before dinner.
We had souvlaki for dinner, at one of the souvlaki stands we passed by in the streets. It’s quite famous too apparently, and the shop is adorned with numerous photos of the owners with celebrities hahaha. The souvlaki was tasty too, so I guess it lived up to its reputation!
We also had Greek yogurt for dessert! Yay nomnomnom. 🙂
We went beach hopping on our 3rd day on Mykonos! There are regular public buses from the Mykonos bus stop (it can’t really be called a station because there’s only 1 ticket booth, and buses are just parked around the area haha) to the beaches.
We took a bus to Platis Gialos, which was where you can hop on a boat to Paradise and Super Paradise beaches. The bus ticket isn’t too expensive, and was about 1.60euros/S$3.70 (one-way, per person) I believe.
We relaxed for an hour or so at Platis Gialos, which is a very nice beach. It might not be as happening as Paradise and Super Paradise, but it’s good to relax at.
Think the lighting is really good here. 😉 HAHAHA
Just chilling on a deck chair haha.
Hopped on a boat to our next beach! We bought a return boat ticket for I think 6euros/S$8.80 per person. Prices might have gone up since then, I’m not too sure, but I don’t think they’ll cost more than 10euros.
As we cruised along to the next beach! The sea has such a beautiful greenish-blue hue doesn’t it!
Super Paradise beach. So yup, basically we spent the entire day just hopping from beach to beach haha, and soaking in the sea, which was cool (literally & figuratively!). 😉
If you’re more the partying/clubbing kind, there are regular clubbing parties over at Super Paradise beach (Cavo Paradiso) later in the night. Bikini-dressed girls go around selling wristbands for entry, so keep an eye out for them if you’re interested hahaha.
Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to cool off when we were done with beach hopping hahaha.
We had dinner at this cool fusion restaurant near our hotel. The ambience was good, the food was good, and the drinks were good too! 🙂 Oh the desserts were great too haha. Spent a few hours just chilling there and enjoying the live music.
