Our Grecian adventure continued as we left Santorini in the afternoon for Mykonos! 🙂 We arrived in Mykonos in the late afternoon, and got a taxi from the airport to take us to the Old Town. Most taxis will either drop off passengers at the main road, or at the main square nearer the port. Most hotels are clustered within the Old Town, so do be prepared to walk a bit to find your hotel!
We stayed at the lovely Carbonaki Hotel for 3 nights (more on that in my hotel review post that is to come). After checking in and leaving our stuff in the room, we headed out to explore a bit and have dinner.
Oh yes, we also caught the sunset from the hotel rooftop! 🙂
We had dinner at Marco Polo Taverna, which was recommended by the hotel. It turned out to be a good recommendation, and the food was pretty good.
Tasty spinach pies. Who knew spinach in a doughy pie could taste this good?! Hahaha.
The moussaka here was average, not as great as the one we had the previous night in Santorini.
Fried calamari was good though! Pity that there wasn’t a lot in one plate haha.
The gyros we had was pretty good as well. It’s essentially somewhat of a souvlaki, as the bread used is pita bread, and it is served with meat, fries and mayo sauce.
We walked around the bustling streets after dinner, and did some window shopping along the way. We didn’t stay out very late as we were rather tired, so after getting water from the nearby minimart, we went back to our hotel to relax.
